International Day of Happiness

International Day of Happiness

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well and excited for the Easter break!

I am writing to you on International Day of Happiness.  Celebrated every year on the 20th March, it is a day where we can reflect and look at all the things in life that make us happy.

Although I have had a hard time, at this moment in time I can honestly say I feel very happy with my life. I know this may sound really cliché but when I look at the things I have to be happy for I can’t help but smile.

I have an amazing family who are always there for me and never fail to make me smile.  My family are spread here there and everywhere with some living in Portsmouth, others living in Lincoln, and some in Doncaster. But thanks to the technology of WhatsApp there is never a moment that we don’t share together and I am so grateful for that. I also recently received the news that my auntie is going to have another baby – can’t wait to meet her!

My friends are the best anyone could ask for! Some of them I have known since I was five years old and much like my family, even though we are all over the country, we still stay in touch and when we meet it’s as if nothing has changed. My uni friends also make me so happy and I can honestly say I don’t think I would be able to survive uni without them! (Cringe I know aha but very true!)

I also wanted to chat about the beach. This has also been a place I feel happiest with the warm sand (or pebbles when back at home) and cool sea I have made many happy memories there.  From skipping stones as a child to jumping off the rocks into the sea over the summer and of course getting a lush tan, I have also loved spending time there – even in the UK.  I am lucky that I live so close to the coast to be able to enjoy such a place. I can’t wait to go back home and make more amazing memories in a place that makes me so happy.

I am also happy about what I have coming up in my life.  I have the first cheerleading competition (the one in Manchester got cancelled due to the snow) this Saturday which I am so excited for! Our team is so strong this year and I couldn’t be happier to be apart of it.  I am going back to my old job at home over the holidays and I can’t wait to be reunited with all the lovely staff there.  The sun is finally starting to shine and I am so excited for Summer to come!

I hope this day has seen you smiling and made you think about what makes you happy whether it be people, a place or a time in your life.

If you have any questions or suggestions for future posts please leave a comment!
