Time for a change

Time for a change

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all well, and looking forward to summer holidays.

The past year, I feel I have grown so much. I have learnt more about myself during second year than I ever have before.

With this new feeling of change in myself, I feel it was time to make another change in my life: my hair.

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted Rapunzel hair. Okay, not quite down to my feet, but to my waist at least! A few times in my life, I did reach this dream length, one of those times being this term. Although it was the best thing ever when I was younger to have super long hair and feel like a princess, as I have gotten older I have found it more of a pain.

I am both lucky and unlucky in that I have thick hair and lots of it. It does look and feel pretty, but it can also be very hot and heavy (especially in the summer) and WOW is it a chore to wash and dry! So, after umming and ahhing for around four months I decided to change it up a little….

I haven’t had short hair since I was a toddler because the Rapunzel dream lasted many many many years! So I was quite excited for this new change. But when the day came, the nerves set in. I know some people think getting nervous about a hair cut is silly, yet for some reason I did get a little emotional (not sure why, it’s hard to explain haha!)

At first, I was in a bit of shock and I wondered if I had made the right decision. However, by day 2 with short hair and after going out with the girls with my new look, I was in love and I am so glad I made this change. It is so much healthier and I feel a new glow in myself too!

Before…
After!

Sometimes, you have to just go for it! Change doesn’t have to mean you aren’t you anymore, it can just mean you have the chance to be the best version of yourself you can be. For me, this simple change has given me a new found confidence and I am ready to face anything!

So, if you are thinking about making a little change in your life, I say go for it.
