This week has been a busy one. Working full-time, being a full-time student and still trying to remain somewhat fit, healthy and social has proved a little much so I am forever grateful for the timing of our reading week! Work has been mental so I’ve been doing more hours to help out where I can. But this has taken up so much of my time so I’ve been finishing work at 18:30 and running to uni to get some work done on my assignment until uni closes at 21:00.
This has pretty much been my routine until the weekend. Then my brothers came down to Birmingham and we went for breakfast at Orientee Bakery in town before catching a train to Wolverhampton to play the only escape game you need to know about – CLOCKWORK ESCAPES! I’ve raved about it before and the one we played was Halloween-themed and it was BRILLLLL! Yes it scared us but we managed to escape. In the evening we went for a Nando’s as it’s been a while then later on settled for some wine and cheese at Arch 13 in the Jewellery Quarter!
Through the stress of having 903 things on my mind at all times, I’ve found making a list really helpful. It’s not something I do all the time so I think doing it for the first time in a long time gave me a little motivational push to get things crossed off. Having snacks sat on my desk proved as unhelpful as helpful so I advise having a big meal before you settle down to start writing otherwise you get distracted! And lastly, finding time for yourself is also important. I know I’m busy but one sunny morning I decided to get up early and go for a run along the canal. I didn’t last very long BUT It’s nice to clear your mind for a while before getting back into life.
