Life at UCB through the eyes of our student bloggers

A day in the life

A day in the life

Hi everyone!

I hope you are well and are enjoying the first week of Easter break!

This week, I thought I would share with you what a typical day off uni is like for me as a student. This semester, I am in uni Tuesday, Thursday and Friday so am lucky to get two days off a week! Normally, people share this sort of information as a video, but I thought I would do it a little differently and share with you my Wednesday through pictures (and a few words!).

My morning starts at around 8 o’clock when my alarm goes off – I know what you may be thinking, why do I set an alarm on my day off. However, you will soon see how busy my day is and why I need to get up early to get it all done.

After I have spent a good 10 minutes scrolling through social media, I head downstairs to make breakfast, which is either granola or Weetabix. But, because it is my day off, I opted for granola! I wash this down with some water and a green tea, which I top up throughout the day.

I then change into some comfy clothes, put on Heart radio and get some work done. Recently, I have been loving working from my bed as I can spread everything out around me!

At around 11:45, I head over to the gym where I did an AQUA class – I know what some of you are thinking, that is for old people, however, I kid you not, this was the hardest workout I think I have ever done!

After getting back from the gym, I had a little snack of a Go Ahead! bar and a banana while doing some work on the sofa.

I normally work on Wednesday evenings, so I tend to have a late lunch/early dinner at around 4 o’clock. Today, I tried the ham & egg curried noodles from my Jamie Oliver cookbook and it was delicious!

Then it was time to get changed for work and head off – despite only being around five miles from my house, traffic means it can take an hour to get to work by car, so I have to leave extra early so as not to be late.

I finally finished work at 10pm after a four hour shift and set off for the drive back.

Once home, I take off my make-up using Simple micellar water, wash my face using Clinique anti-blemish solutions and moisturise using Clinique moisturiser.

I then get change into my pjs, get into bed and set my alarms for uni the next morning.

So, that is a typical Wednesday for me!
