Hi everyone!
I hope you are well and not too stressed with deadlines.
A few weeks ago I went to check out the biggest Primark in the world. So, this week I thought I would share with you what I thought and what I bought!
Those of you who know me well know I am a huge shopaholic and can spend ALL day shopping if I were given the chance! So, when I saw Birmingham was going to be opening the biggest Primark in the world, I knew I had to go before finishing uni and moving back home. It opened on Thursday 11 April, however I thought I should wait a few days before checking it out as I knew it would be crazy busy! I had the Sunday off work, so my housemate and I got up early and went straight there to shop before the clothes were all over the place!
OMG I loved it! It was laid out nicely, everything was easy to find and it had cute little accessories like quotes, sign posts and displays. Although it was busy given that it was the first weekend it opened and the start of the school holidays, the shop was so big it didn’t feel rammed.
One of the first things I found was a black crop top with a pretty mesh overlay. I thought this could look really cute with black jeans on a night out or cocktail evening or on a date. I tried it on and fell in love! The fit was perfect and it wasn’t itchy at all. At £8 I felt it was such a bargain!
I also picked up a pair of black high-waisted skinny jeans simply to try with the top and wow! They looked exactly the same as my Topshop Joni jeans, were super comfortable, easy to move in and a complete steal at £10! Yes, £10!! So if you want to grab a pair or three like me, they are called shaping super high-waisted skinny jeans.
The third thing I picked up was this cute black denim dress with a zip down the front. As soon as I saw this, I knew with a little white tee and some trainers or Converse, this could look so nice for spring/summer. At £13 I couldn’t leave it behind!
After going into the changing rooms and trying on a few bits we came out and went round again for a second round!
This time, I picked up what I can only describe as the comfiest pair of grey joggers. They were a nice length and not too baggy but still easy to move in. I could tell as soon as I put them on in the changing rooms that I would be living in them! They came in at £5 which is such a bargain for something I am going to get lots of wear out of.
I also picked up a denim skirt which I was a little nervous about trying on as I have bigger hips and often struggle finding a skirt that can go over my hips and not be too baggy round my waist. But I was very impressed when I tried it on as it fit perfectly! For £10 this was another item I could not leave behind!
While walking around, a pair of pink trainers caught my eye and at first I said ‘do you need them?’, but after a while I was still thinking about them and knew I had to get them! The chunky/clunky style trainer has been out for a while but I was worried I would look weird and wouldn’t be able to pull them off. But at £14 I couldn’t complain and decided to give them a go. I have since worn them out a lot and have received lots of compliments on them!
The final item that I picked up was a pair of black culottes. I have wanted a pair of these for ages but was worried I was too short to pull them off so never wanted to pay a fortune for a pair. So, when I saw a rack of them in Primark I was very excited! Being brave and trying a new style is something I want to do more of, so at £13 I decided to give them a go and they looked really nice both casual or dressy.
Overall, it was a very successful trip! I would definitely recommend having a look if you are in Birmingham!
