There is so much going on around the world and 2020 has only just begun!
January is a crucial month in the academic calendar: Assignment due dates, exams and the end of the semester. I hope everyone is on track with their studies and if you need some help, take a look at some of our previous posts highlighting tips for studying.
The beginning of a new year is always intimidating, but also full of opportunities. There are a couple of things that I am looking forward to in 2020. As I probably mentioned before, I have a black belt in judo and the Tokyo Olympics is coming up! I will be looking forward to seeing those matches.
January is a good month to start planning resources and time for travels! Most of you would probably be going home after the end of the semester, but for the rest of you, maybe consider visiting a new city or country.
What are you excited for in 2020? New movies? New books? New games and consoles? Completing NY resolutions?
The new year is also time for some of you to ponder on an important decision: placement. It is a critical point for all students because it affects your whole career! A slight exaggeration, but there are many stories of unpleasant placements which would put you back on your learning.
As much as the companies are looking for help, you may want to take your time to consider the options. Compare your options, weigh the pros and cons, and go for it!
If you’re new to the industry, or even working for the first time, things may go wrong but it will be okay. Mistakes may be made, but learning from failures is a step towards success.
