Life at UCB through the eyes of our student bloggers

January

January

Hello, hello, hello, everyone!!! How are you? I hope you are good.

This week I would like to speak about January. January is not just the first month of the year. It is a very important month for me as it is my birthday month.

I am turning 21 and I still can’t believe how quickly time goes by. My parents have always celebrated my birthday with the usual family, friends, cake and presents. However, as I have grown up in this environment each year, I’ve continued to celebrate my birthday with even more excitement. I enjoy spending time with everyone, catching up on things and having a nice time.

I think everyone has the same sort of tradition on their birthday, about blowing the candles and making a wish. The wish that I had for this year has already come true before I even blew the candles. I am very blessed, and I believe a lot in what life brings us and all the good things that come when you do good things.

Gaining years doesn’t only mean that you are becoming old. For me, it is a wonderful way to collect memories. Every year it is an adventure and you never know what it brings until you live it. Going back through my pictures, I see all the things I’ve done during my whole life and it makes me realise how important it is to live every day as if it was the last one.

Not every day you will wake up being happy and full of energy to do things, and that’s fine. But it’s the small things that matter. Sometimes we need to push ourselves and do things that maybe we don’t want, or we are too lazy to complete. However, when this happens to me, I always think about the day that I will be on my rocking chair and the stories I would like to tell my children and grandchildren. That gives me the energy to collect memories because everything is about collecting memories. That is how we learn.

I am not sure how I am going to celebrate it this year but what I do know is with whom I want to celebrate it, and that is with those who love me and want all the best for me.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post, and I bless you all with happiness.
