International Day of Happiness

International Day of Happiness

Hello, hello, hello, everyone!!! I hope you are well and staying calm in these hard days.

Today I would like to raise awareness of the International Day of Happiness, which was last Friday (20 March). This day focuses on three purposes, which are: “Keep Calm, Stay Wise, Be Kind”.

I want to highlight that although we are at very critical times, there is always a reason to smile. No matter how hard this is, find that one thing that will make you smile.

In our everyday lives we pass through lots of negative emotions such as stress, anger or frustration. I understand that sometimes it is difficult to smile, but at least if we all think about something or even a moment that made us smile before going to bed, or even when you wake up, or during the day, it will make a change in your wellbeing.

A few months ago, I was feeling very excited counting down the days left to go back to my country for Easter. However, from one day to another that has changed completely. Now I don’t even know when I will be able to go back.

But although it’s sad and frustrating, every day I am working on just focusing on the positive side of all of this. I am very happy to have an internet connection to be able to video call my family as much as I want. Think about how difficult it would be to pass this situation when there wasn’t any technology, in the olden times when the internet didn’t exist. Also, to have my boyfriend by my side is helping me a lot to smile, and last but not least, to be healthy.

We are all in this together, rich and poor, everyone is together in this critical moment. Therefore, “Keep Calm, Stay Wise, Be Kind”.

“Happiness is not about having or not having problems. Everyone has problems, but not everyone is unhappy”. – Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney.
