The Importance of the Little Things

The Importance of the Little Things

Hello, hello, hello, everyone!!!!

I hope you are feeling well and healthy. I understand that these days are complicated, but nevertheless I always believe there is a positive side of everything.

Today I want to speak about what is really important. Those small things that, with our everyday responsibilities, we tend to forget.

Family: Normally we don’t have that much time to spend quality time with our loved ones. These circumstances are allowing us to spend time with them, either playing board games, watching films, or even cooking.

Unfortunately, due to the circumstances I haven’t been able to go home, but then I am very grateful to have technology that allows me to maintain contact with my loved ones.

Uni: Having online lessons is helping me a lot to understand assignments and to contribute to class discussions, because in class I tend to be shy to say something in case I get it wrong and I struggle to write down everything that is being said. Maybe it’s something teachers can implement besides face-to-face lessons, who knows. I would really benefit as I feel it helps me a lot to focus and I even feel more productive.

Time: Everyone often complains of not having time to stop and relax, doing things that they truly enjoy. This time is allowing everyone to catch up on things or even do things they really enjoy such as cooking, watching movies, sewing, painting, etc.

I believe that all this time is allowing us to value the small things more such as hugging, kissing, speaking, the main basic things that makes us who we are, social beings. Therefore, we need to stay calm and free our mind from any worry or fear. We can think about the number of things we can do at home. We need to be thankful for what we have.

I want to use this opportunity to thank all the lecturers for their support in these circumstances as they are working very hard to prepare all the online lessons. Also, I want to wish you all a great week and I hope you stay healthy.

“Sometimes the smallest things take the most room in your heart”. – Piglet, Walt Disney.
