Hi again ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you’re staying safe!

I know most of the shops are currently sold out of flour, but if you do have some in your cupboards and would enjoy baking, I have provided you with a recipe below to make a lemon cake. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ingredients:

  • 6oz self-raising flour
  • 6oz caster sugar
  • 4oz margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons of milk
  • Grated rind of lemon
  • 1 tbsp sugar and 1 whole lemon’s juice (to pour on top when it comes out of the oven)

 

Method:

  • Get a baking tin like the oneย in the video and line it with grease paper
  • Put a thin layer on the grease paper so the cake doesn’t stick to it
  • Whisk all the ingredients above together (except for the 1 tbsp sugar and lemon juice)
  • Pour the batter into the cake tin and place in the oven for 50 minutes on 140 degrees (this may vary depending on your oven, but if you can poke a knife through the middle without the batter sticking to it, it’s done ๐Ÿ˜‰ )
  • Mix 1 tbsp of sugar with 1 whole lemon’s juice
  • When the cake is done, take it out of the oven and pour the juice all over the cake so that it soaks through while the cake is hot ๐Ÿ™‚
  • When the cake has cooled down, use a knife to separate the cake from the grease paper… then cut a slice off and enjoy. The end is the best bit as the sugary juice normallyย settles there ๐Ÿ˜‰
