Taking a break – Seaside edition

Taking a break – Seaside edition

Hi everyone, let’s talk breaks – not the Ross and Rachel “WE WERE ON A BREAK” kind!

I want to share my all-time favourite seaside place – Lyme Regis! I have been visiting this place since I was a teeny tiny person so it’s kind of like a nostalgic getaway for me. I went with my mum on a little girly trip.

I’ve been driving now for about two-and-a-half years, and this was by far the longest drive my little car has ever done – it took us around 2.5 hours to get there – however, we kept ourselves entertained with music, food and plans for Christmas lol! Lyme Regis is on the Jurassic coast, down south. We were very lucky with the weather – it only rained when we got in the car to leave!

While at the seaside, we obviously had to have some chips – just the chips as we are both vegetarian – still 100% worth it. Apart from when my mum put her chips down to have a drink and the seagulls saw that as an invitation to ATTACK! We soon ran off – taking our chips with us lol.

And of course, no trip to the seaside is complete without ice cream – I had Eton mess and my mum had rum and raisin. I definitely had ice cream envy 🙁 We could have this in peace as the seagulls weren’t interested in our ice cream in the slightest… bliss.

We also visited another local seaside spot in the town of Seaton – neither of us had ever really been here and properly explored before but luckily, the sun was shining and watching the waves you could have mistaken it for a beach in Southern France. Of course, we made sure to walk all the way down and across the beach, including multiple levels of pebbles – up and down over and over, yes we did fall over… multiple times.

I guess the moral of the blog is… it is so, so important, no matter how many assignments, part-time jobs or other commitments you have, you must take a break every now and then. Not necessarily a trip to the seaside, it could just be taking a walk or baking a cake.

Regardless, taking a break from everyday life is so important to refresh your batteries and clear your head, so when you feel like life is piling up against you, remember that taking a break always helps! Even if you’re not feeling particularly stressed at the moment, always remember that ice cream, chips and fresh air make every situation better!

Look after yourselves and I’ll see you next week 🙂

Millie 🙂
