The importance of being a self-motivated person

The importance of being a self-motivated person

Heya! I am back with another post, and this week I would like to talk about motivation. Motivation is a feeling that comes naturally to some of us but one that unfortunately some people lack, which can have future consequences if you cannot find it anywhere.

Motivation is defined as your willingness to do something. Some people wake up in the morning to go to work, and they are ready for a new day, full of energy and happiness. This might be due to a new promotion, working towards a raise, aiming to do a great job and get good feedback on it etc… There are several reasons behind it. On the other hand some individuals that constantly lack motivation and aspirations in life tend to not perform so well. Hence why it is vital to work on being a self-motivated person, and let me tell you, this can take you far in life!

The main aim of this post is to motivate you towards becoming more motivated in life! There is so much to it. Obviously I think all of us have gone through a period either at uni or college where we are in a stage of our lives where we are not 100% sure what we want to do in the future – the big question of “where do you see yourself in 10 years?”.

Well, let me tell you… You don’t actually need to know this right now, but it is good to give it a thought. In my opinion, to find motivation it is essential to know where you see yourself going in life in a couple of years. I tend to think about real achievable scenarios, for example a great job, one I love and don’t mind going in every day and doing overtime. It keeps me motivated and when I feel down I just think about the great future I have ahead of me.

Therefore, try to think about where you see yourself in the future (an optimistic scenario preferably, because we all deserve one :p ). This always helps not only when I feel a bit lazy to do something like an assignment, but also when I feel a bit depressed and anxious, so hopefully it will help you too if it’s something you struggle with often.

It is also essential to do things for your own pleasure and enjoyment so always do it for yourself and try not to think too much about the external factors. Remember the world is your oyster and you can achieve anything with hard work, motivation and willingness!

I’ll be back next week with a new post.
