Birthday on Lockdown

Birthday on Lockdown

Hey everyone! Hope all of you have had a great week so far!

This weekend is kind of big for me since it’s my 21st birthday and I was hoping I’d have somewhere to go in Birmingham, but unfortunately everything interesting is closed. 🙁 Therefore I’ll just have to find something that amuses me for the day!

I have been looking up some cool ideas for birthdays under lockdown and I came across some interesting posts that I may even incorporate into my own birthday, so I wanted to share this with all of you, just in case you have an upcoming birthday that like mine is restricted, but you still want to make the most out of it. And please feel free to drop your own ideas and what you have done in your day!

  1. ZOOM meetings

Even though we are physically restricted, there is nothing stopping us from enjoying our day with the people we love the most, especially with apps that allow us to share a screen with multiple people at the same time, like Zoom for example! There are several others that you can look for, such as Houseparty.

  1. Make a list

That’s right. Make a list of all the things that you can do, and like to do even with the restrictions. This might be a spa day, a shopping spree, or going out for a meal with some mates (depending on what tier your city has). This is what I have done for myself, wrote some things I feel like doing, and looked up if it would be open or if I could try to do it at home.

  1. Dress to impress and have a nice night out (in)

Everyone likes dressing up and feeling themselves a bit, even more on your B-day where you are supposed to be the centre of attention! So even though it is not a proper night out, still dress up for yourself, and drink those cocktails!

  1. Have a party when restrictions are lifted

With the release of the new Covid-19 vaccine, we should be back to normal soon (or so I hope). Therefore if you don’t feel like doing anything, because there’s nothing you feel like doing under the current climate, just have a late B-day party when restrictions are lifted!

Birthdays are important for a lot of people, and it’s a day we like to enjoy and celebrate our life around people we like. I understand it’s almost impossible right now to actually plan something big, but don’t let this stop you from making the most out of your day. 🙂

See you next week!
