How to grow an avocado tree

Hey guys, hope you’re all good!

This week I thought I’d share my first ‘gardening’ attempt where I planted avocado seeds.

So, this is how it all started… Back at the end of November, I ‘planted’ the avocado seeds in water, where they stayed for almost 2 months before they were ready to re-plant in soil. This is how it works:

Obviously, you’ll need an avocado first.

Once you open your avocado and pull the seed out, rinse it in some water! Then, you’ll need some toothpicks, which you should insert about halfway up the avocado, equally around the seed. You’ll need to place the toothpicks over a cup of water so that the bottom of the seed is in the water.

The seed needs to soak in water until it starts to sprout! It was so interesting to see how the roots started to develop, but this took around 3-6 weeks. Still, it was amazing once it actually happened!

Once the roots have developed, that’s when I replanted the seed into soil, and now they are getting taller and taller each day!

It might be up until 5 years before the trees produce fruits, but still, I’m growing my avocado trees which is super cool!
