Winter Essentials

Winter Essentials

Today is officially the last day of astronomical autumn, although I feel like it’s been winter for a while already. I don’t know about you but I’m the kind of person who gets every single cold that’s around, so in this blog I’m going to share some of my winter essentials that keep me healthy and some other bits I can’t live without during the cold seasons.

First off is my immune system daily vitamins. These have zinc and vitamin C in, which help keep your immune system strong and ready to fight off those colds. I also have a Berocca every day – if you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a big tablet that you dissolve in water and drink, and it’s packed full of vitamins. These two things together seem to work pretty well for me when trying to stay cold free!

Another winter essential for me is hand sanitiser. I know due to the pandemic, hand sanitiser has become much more common, but it’s always been a staple in my handbag during winter, especially if I’m going to busy places. You’d be surprised how often you touch your face without realising, so it’s important you have bacteria-free hands! Another staple in my handbag during winter is lip balm. The central heating and cold weather do not agree with my lips!

A neutral-coloured warm coat and some black boots are my winter clothes essentials. The natural coat can be paired with any outfit and will keep you super warm. Black boots also go with any outfit and will keep your feet much warmer than trainers will, especially if you wear them with some fluffy socks. A scarf is another must – it keeps you much warmer than you might think, and it can be a great accessory to an outfit.

Make-up definitely isn’t an essential for me. Most days I don’t wear it, however I do like to put some on if I’m going clubbing or for a nice meal. My winter make-up routine is very different from my summer one because my skin is much dryer during the colder months. During winter, I usually skip primer and instead wear a much thicker face cream. I find this stops my skin from getting so dry and helps my make-up look dewy. Another winter make-up essential is a pink blusher. I like a peachy blusher during summer to match my tan, but winter is definitely a pink blusher season!

Candles, hot drinks and fluffy blankets are three things that make my cold winter nights much cosier. There’s nothing better than making a coffee, lighting the candles, getting under a blanket and watching a Christmas film!

I hope you have a great start to winter. Stay warm and healthy and have a great Christmas!
